Girls Softball Registration Open for Spring 2023

Think Spring! The Springfield Recreation Department and Springfield Girls Softball Inc. jointly announce that online registration is now live for Girls Softball in Spring 2023! Clinics for Pre-K and Kindergarteners, and leagues for 1st-9th graders, are open to children who reside in or attend a school in Springfield.

On Thursday, December 29, 2022, a blood drive will be held at the Chisholm Community Center (100 South Springfield Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081), from 2:00-8:00 pm, sponsored by New York Blood Center-New Jersey Blood Services and hosted by Springfield Recreation Department. Springfield Celebrates Tree Lighting 2022

The Springfield community came together to light the Christmas Tree outside Town Hall and the First Aid Squad on Thursday night, December 1, 2022, following a postponement of one day due to rain and wind. Upwards of 1,000 children and adults packed the municipal complex grounds on the chilly night for a live concert featuring local talent including Taye McQueen, singer, actress, and Jonathan Dayton High School Class of 2011 graduate; students of Front & Center for Performing Arts of Springfield; and members of the Jonathan Dayton High School Jazz Ensemble.

Tree Lighting & Concert Postponed to Thursday, December 1

The Township of Springfield's Tree Lighting & Concert is postponed to the raindate of Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 pm, outside Town Hall and the First Aid Squad, due to rainy and windy conditions forecasted for the original date. Beginning at approximately 6:30 pm, the community will be treated to live musical performances by Taye McQueen, singer, actress, and Jonathan Dayton High School Class of 2011 graduate; students from Front & Center for Performing Arts of Springfield; and the Jonathan Dayton High School Jazz Ensemble.
