​​Costume Contest Winners are Highlights of Halloween Spooktacular 2022

​The Springfield Recreation Department's Halloween Spooktacular was held outside — under blue skies and unseasonably warm temperatures — at Chisholm Park on Sunday, October 30, 2022. Hundreds of community members of all ages gathered to show off their scariest and most original costumes at the annual costume contest. Participants were judged by Mayor Alex Keiser and Joani Lico, Recreation Program Coordinator.

Recreation Basketball Leagues and Clinics Offered

Registration is open for youth basketball -- sponsored by the Springfield Recreation Department and the Springfield Basketball Association this winter! The following programs are offered for children who reside in or attend a school in Springfield: Clinics (Pre-K - 2nd grade) and Leagues (3rd - 8th grade). Winter Conditioning for 3rd-8th Graders at Chisholm

Winter Conditioning for 3rd-8th graders begins in a few weeks at the Chisholm Community Center! Coach Mike Czech will teach strength training, injury prevention, stretching techniques, indoor running, and agility drills. Travel Basketball Team Tryouts for 2022-2023

Springfield Recreation Department and Springfield Basketball Association announce travel team tryouts for 2022-2023. Online registration is now open for travel basketball tryouts for Fall 2022/Winter 2023! Detailed flyers can be downloaded at www.springfield-nj.us/recreation. Click "Flyers List" and then "Basketball". Tryouts are offered for Nettes 4th-8th grade girls teams and Minutemen 4th-8th grade boys teams.
