Popular Jewish Musician RICK RECHT Returns to Temple Sha'arey Shalom

Temple Sha'arey Shalom of Springfield invites the community to a special Shabbat live musical service featuring Jewish rock musician Rick Recht, on Friday, June 13, at 8:00 pm. Rick will be joined by the Temple's adult and youth choirs. This special event is sponsored by the Schkolnick family of Mountainside in honor of their son Jake's bar mitzvah. Springfield Police Department Invites Public Comment on Accreditation Assessment

A team of assessors from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) will arrive on June 8, 2014 to examine all aspects of the Springfield Police Department’s policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services Police Chief John Cook announced today.

“Verification by the team that the Springfield Police Department meets the Commission’s “best practice” standards is part of a voluntary process to achieve accreditation, a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence”, Chief Cook said.

The Springfield Chapter of Hadassah has names Robin L. Ross Woman of the Year

The Springfield Chapter of Hadassah has named Robin L. Ross Woman of the Year. She will be honored at a luncheon on Sunday, June 22, 12 noon at Sofia's restaurant on Morris Ave in Springfield, NJ.
Mrs. Ross grew up in Springfield and received her BS degree in Biology from Cedar Crest college, Allentown, Pa. She hods a Masters of Science in Biology and Business from Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ and a diploma from the American Academy-McAllister Institute of Funeral Service , New York, from which she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1997.
