The Union County Board of County Commissioners would like to remind you of several free recycling events coming up in July.   

Union County’s Scrap Metal Recycling program will continue on Thursday, July 1st  and Saturday, July 17th. There are two (2) locations in Union County for residents to drop off their metal for recycling, one in Cranford and Rahway.  The location of the Cranford drop-off is the Emergency Services/ Traffic Enforcement facility located at 151 Kenilworth Boulevard.  The Rahway drop-off is located at the Rahway Service Yard located in Rahway River Park off of St.

Senior Citizens Visit Downtown Westfield on Recreation Bus Trip

Springfield senior citizens enjoyed a stroll through Downtown Westfield on Friday, June 25, 2021, for lunch at Vicki's Diner and shopping at Trader Joe's. Springfield Recreation Department bus trips are chaperoned and follow current COVID-19 protocols. Scream Truck to Join Springfield Library in Support of Summer Reading Program

Children and teens will scream for ice cream when they register for the Springfield Library’s Summer Reading Program. Participation is for Springfield residents only. Those who register will receive a voucher for a free ice cream from Scream Truck redeemable on Saturday, July 10 between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm when Scream Truck will be parked outside of the library. In order to participate, vouchers must be picked up from the library no later than Tuesday, July 6 at 5:00 pm.
