SPRINGFIELD LIBRARY AND GIRL SCOUTS PARTNER TO SCHEDULE AN ENCORE PERFORMANCE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM, The Modest Beekeeper

Members of the public who missed the premier screening of The Modest Beekeeper, a documentary film about Springfield hobbyist  P. J. Martin that was created and produced by Springfield resident Amefika Gray, will get a second chance when this half hour documentary returns to the library for an encore screening at 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, June 14.  Music in the film is provided by the Springfield pop-rock band “The Vaughns,” Bloomfield musicians Raheen & Tracey Henry as well as by filmmaker Gray.   

Dayton Athletics: Yesterday's Results, and Today's Schedule

Yesterday, May 24, in their North 2, Group 1, State Tournamant games, Dayton Varsity Baseball won over Somerset VoTech, 13-0, while Varsity Softball fell, 0-1, to David Brearley High School.

Today, weather permitting, Varsity Baseball will face Becton High School in a home game hosted by Oratory Prep School at 3:00 PM.

Dayton Athletics: Yesterday's Results, and Today's Schedule

Yesterday, Dayton Varsity Softball won over Hoboken High School, 19-4, in the North 2, Group 1, State Tournament game.

Today, the Varsity Baseball team will play at home, on Ruby Field, against Somerset VoTech High School and the Varsity Softball team will play at home, on the Softball Turf, against David Brearly High School. Both games are at 4:00 PM and part of the North 2, Group 1, State Tournament.

Mayor Signs Proclamation for Emergency Medical Services Week

At the May 23rd Township Committee meeting, Mayor Diane Stampoulos signed a proclamation recognizing the value and accomplishments of the Emergency Medical Services systems and honoring the Springfield First Aid Squad.
