The Springfield Chapter of Hadassah has names Robin L. Ross Woman of the Year

The Springfield Chapter of Hadassah has named Robin L. Ross Woman of the Year. She will be honored at a luncheon on Sunday, June 22, 12 noon at Sofia's restaurant on Morris Ave in Springfield, NJ.
Mrs. Ross grew up in Springfield and received her BS degree in Biology from Cedar Crest college, Allentown, Pa. She hods a Masters of Science in Biology and Business from Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ and a diploma from the American Academy-McAllister Institute of Funeral Service , New York, from which she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1997.
Upon Graduation and licensure as a funeral director in New Jersey, Robin became part of the professional staff at Menorah Chapels, Millburn, a local Jewish funeral home founded by her father-in-law, the late Herbert Ross, which was later partly owned by her husband, Mark, In 2009, she left Menorah Chapels in Millburn with her husband, Mark.. In 2011, she and her husband opened their own exclusively Jewish funeral home, Ross' Shalom Chapels in Springfield, Chatham and Whippany, NJ.
Previously, Robin also worked at Art/Craft Monuments-Shalom Memorials, Union,NJ and had served as a forensic toxicologist for the NJ State Medical Examiners office.
Both Mark and Robin are members of Temple Ahm Yisrael in Springfield. Robin is an active member of its Women’s League. Included among her additional activities are: co-chair of the synagogue's youth commission, involvement in numerous synagogue dinner dance committees, fashion show co-chair, Oneg Shabbat committee chair and member and supporter of the Women's League Torah Fund.
In 2005, Robin, Mark and their children participated in the March Of The Living commemorating the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. They traveled to several concentration camps in Poland and then on to Israel. She has also been an active member of the Parent Teacher Student Organization in Springfield.
Her lifetime memberships include: Jewish Women International, the Sisterhood of Temple Sha'arey Shalom and Hadassah, where she serves on the board of trustees. She is also a member of the Sisterhood of Temple Israel.
Robin resides in Springfield with her husband, Mark Samuel Ross, Esq., her two adult children, Adam Micah Ross, Esq. And Danielle Leah Ross, Esq as well as their dog, Gidget Ross.
