Springfield’s Fourth of July celebration, Take Pride in Springfield will be held on Friday, July 4th 2014 at Meisel Field in Springfield. If you are unfamiliar with the location, please use 250 Meisel Ave. in Springfield to locate the Field on your GPS or Google maps. The field is located between Laurel Drive and Linden Avenue on Meisel Ave. Meisel Ave will be closed from 3 pm until 11 Pm between Milltown rd. and Linden Ave.

The gates open at 5 PM and refreshments will be available for sale through the evening at reasonable prices. There will be a trackless train and rides for children as well as a petting zoo and a pony ride. Everyone is urged to arrive early and bring chairs or blankets to sit on. No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the Field. A Five Dollar donation is collected at the gates for everyone; children under two years old are free.

The evening’s musical entertainment will start around 7 pm and feature three nationally recognized groups, Barbara Harris of the TOYS, The 1910 Fruitgum Company with Special Guest, Dennis Tufano original lead singer of the Buckinghams.
