First Aid Squad officers sworn into office

At the January 10 meeting of the Springfield Township Committee, Mayor Diane Stampoulos administered the oath of office to the 2017 officers of the Springfield First Aid Squad.

Robert Endress, Captain Stuart Maslow, Treasurer Marla Napurano, Corresponding Secretary Amy Rossomando and President Elizabeth J. Fritzen. Other 2017 officers of the Squad, not available to be sworn in at this meeting, are Secretary Melissa Del Mauro, House Committee member Wally Lutz and Trustee Martin Gornstein.

Founded by residents in 1949, the Springfield First Aid Squad is the town’s ambulance service. The First Aid Squad’s staff is primarily volunteers, age 16 or older, but augmented by per-diem personnel to ensure round-the-clock coverage for the town. The First Aid Squad operates three ambulances as well as a first responder/utility vehicle from its headquarters located on North Trivett Avenue, between the Municipal Building and the Library.
