Springfield Patriot Chamber of Commerce Meeting Highlights March 23, 2017

Mike Scalera stepped in for Chamber Chairman Scott Seidel who had to attend another meeting on behalf of the Township.  Mike called the meeting to order, gave the financial report and read Chief Cook's monthly Police Report.

Business Administrator Ziad Shehady updated the group with the 3 pending  redevelopment projects the town is working on  along with the benefits and challenges , Fire Chief Carlo Palumbo reported about the recognition of the lifesaving efforts of a springfield resident, high speed car crash last night and rescue effort and key lock box for new commercial buildings.

Fire Chief Carlo Palumbo, Michael C. Plias, School principal of the Thelma L. Sandmier School and  Pastor J. David Knecht of Holy Cross Lutheran Church were on hand as well and provided reports.

Valcor Engineering advised the Township Administrator that a NASA astronaut will be presenting the prestige Silver Snoopy Award to one of their employees.

Springfield Rotary Annual “Taste of the Town” will be held on April 24th at the new Hilton Gardens from 6:30-9PM – tickets are $35.00.  Please contact Mike Scalera ([email protected]) or Dr. Gary Hecht ([email protected]) for tickets.

Housing Advocates will Host a Housing Summit “Build a Thriving Union County” on March 29th at Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 7:00 PM.  See notice on this website.

The Springfield Business Improvement District will be putting up "window banners" in the vacant store fronts of the Lyons Building pending their demolition.  JCP&L needs to relocate the utility poles before the building can be demolished.   See sample images below. 

The April Chamber meeting will be held on Thursday, April 27th.
