Chamber of Commerce Meeting

Last week's Springfield Patriot Chamber of Commerce meeting was held at the new Hilton Garden Inn on Route 22 West in Springfield.  Reports were given by various Township employees to the Chamber members and Mike Scalera, the Networking Coordinator for the Chamber mentioned multi-chamber event to be held at the Hilton in June.  The Lions Club mentioned their eyeglass collection program with a drop off box at Kearny Bank on Mountain Ave.  A household hazardous waste pick-up will be done on May 7th and the Arbor Day Celebration was discussed.  See the article in the next print issue of the Springfield Patriot Times due out mid month.  A transfer of the designation of the Church Mall redevelopment project was discussed as well as the upcoming Memorial Day Parade.  Mel Kevoe of the Springfield Rotary mentioned their recent "Taste of the Towns" was a big success which was held at the Hilton Gardens that past Monday.   Mention was made of the free online advertising being offered to print advertisers in the Patriot Times, "Why pay for what you can have for free!" commented Patriot Times Editor Scott Seidel.  You don't have to be a member to attend a Chamber meeting so watch for the date and location on the front page of the next Patriot.
