Springfield New Jersey Lions Honor 20 top Dayton Seniors

On May 10th at the Marco Polo Restaurant, the Springfield NJ Lions honored 20 of the top senior students of Jonathan Dayton High School with scholarships as they enter their freshman year of college.  Dayton Principal Dr. Francis  and Springfield Schools Superintendent Davino were also present to honor these outstanding young individuals.   The Dayton grads will be heading off to some of the best colleges in the country including the University of Delaware, Fairleigh Dickinson, Michigan, Mount Holyoke, Ohio State, Penn State, Princeton, Rutgers, Stevens Institute of Technology, SUNY Binghamton, Syracuse, The College of New Jersey, Tulane, and Villanova.   

 

The honorees are: Sarah Adler, Mary Athan, Jordyn Cappa, Danny Chan, Joshua Darmast, Robyn Deneroff, Karly Fitzpatrick, Seana Flood, Francesco Forte, Mia Furci, Emily Hochreiner, Jared Horowitz, Shir Kalati, Destiny Martins, Alexa Morreale, Lee Roth, Sabrina Sequiera, Emily Sickinger, Marisa Scalzo, Gregory Wolz. 

 

The Lions have been awarding scholarships to Dayton grads for over 50 years to help fulfill its mission to serve the community of Springfield.  The Lions also collect used eyeglasses which can be dropped off in the yellow mailboxes at the Springfield Shoprite, General Green Plaza and the Springfield Public Library.
