Township Receives $100,000 in Grants from Union County!

The Township of Springfield received on Thursday May 25, 2017 two grants totaling $100,000 from the County of Union.  One infrastructure grant is in the amount of $75,000.00 for the improvements of Juniper Way and Timber Acres Road.  This grant application was submitted on behalf of the Township by Sam Mardini, Director of Engineering.  This grant amount would fund 50 percent of the total cost of the project.  In addition, The Springfield Recreation Department, on behalf of the Township of Springfield, was awarded a $25,000 Senior Focus Initiative Grant. The department received the maximum grant award, which will be used toward enhancing accessibility, activity, and technology in the senior wing of the Chisholm Community Center. The project includes: resistance training exercise equipment in the fitness room, upgraded audio/visual system and additional wall-mounted TVs in the meeting room, and a resource center of computers and printers.
