Springfield Resident Lora Condon, was the winner of the Compassion Category in the international esthetic competition, The Skin Games, for her work with serving and retired soldiers, their families and first responders. Ms. Condon donated her $1500 prize to Freedom Alliance, a charity that works directly with soldiers and their families. Lora’s winnings went to the college scholarship fund that has donated over $11 million dollars to children whose parents have either been killed or permanently disabled in action.

On Saturday June 10, 2017, Tom Kilgannon, the President of Freedom Alliance, his associate Matthew Higgins, Westfield Mayor Andy Skibitsky and councilman Keith Loughlin, were in attendance for the check presentation at Lora’s spa, Jersey Boutique Spa in Downtown Westfield.  Freedom Alliance also brought along one of their college scholarship recipients, Jacob Rangel, whose father died while serving in Iraq. Former Springfield resident and Vietnam Veteran, David Gerber presented Jacob with his handmade military-grade, paracord key fob.  Also in attendance was former Springfield resident, Phyllis Gerber, DeDee DeFililippis and current Springfield residents Leslie and Lenny Zucker, the former judge of Springfield.
