Members of Springfield Emergency Medical Services, Fire Department, Police Departmnet and Office of Emergency Management, along with many other township officials and staff, joined members of the public to remember and pay tribute to those that lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Moments of silence and a ringing of a bell commemorated the times airliners struck the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, after which a memorial wreath was laid at and proclamation presented by Deputy Mayor Maria Vassallo.
