BLUEGRASS BAND “SILK CITY” TO PERFORM AT SPRINGFIELD LIBRARY ON DECEMBER 3

            The Springfield Free Public Library is pleased to announce a return visit by Silk City, an acoustic bluegrass band with a sound as unique as its repertoire.  The performance is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 3, and will take place in the library's Palmer Museum.   Members of the band include Barry MItterhoff on mandolin, Danny Weiss on guitar and vocals,  and the North Carolina “roots” sound of Mary Olive’s  vocals.  This performance will also feature special guest Tom Wise on bass.    In addition to bluegrass, the band’s playlist will include Honky Tonk, Roots/Country, Western Swing and some original music.  More information about Silk City can be found at www.dannyweiss.com/silkcity.html .
