Springfield Children Meet Easter Bunny at Recreation Department Event

Thanks to our sponsors

The Easter Bunny greeted Springfield children and their families yesterday afternoon, Saturday, April 3, 2021, at the Springfield Recreation Department's Easter Bunny Meet & Greet -- after last year's annual egg hunt and kite festival was cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID-19. With beautiful spring weather at Chisholm Park, families received free toy-filled eggs from Springfield Recreation Department staff and were guided through pre-reserved timed photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny. Also on hand were Summit Soundz and Party Maniacs with DJ music and entertainment, as well as the Ice Cream Creations food truck. Raffle prizes such as baskets and gift cards were generously donated by Scott Seidel of Cardinal Land Properties; Mike Scalera of State Farm Insurance; Hope and Jeff Rosenberg of Century 21 Norma Altman Realtors; Jack Zuber, DDS; and KRA Insurance. Seidel, Scalera, and Rosenberg also served as event volunteers. Event assistance was provided by the Springfield Auxiliary Police and the Springfield Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Adam Lieb, Director of Recreation, commented to the Springfield Patriot Times, "The meet and greet went just as we planned and we're fortunate to have had such a beautiful day. I hope the families who attended were happy to spend time outside, enjoy ice cream and music, and take some fun pictures with the Easter Bunny. I'm thankful to my staff and all of the community partners, volunteers, and sponsors who helped make the event a success."
