Chisholm Playground Camp, the Springfield Recreation Department's popular summer camp tradition, is returning this summer! Online-only registration opens on Thursday morning, April 29, 2021, at https://register.communitypass.net/springfield. Operating primarily outdoors at Chisholm Park -- with limited activities inside the Chisholm Community Center -- camp features eight unique weeks from Monday, June 28, 2021-Friday, August 20, 2021, with a full daily schedule from 8:30 am-12:30 pm. Camp is open to residents and non-residents entering Pre K- through 6th grade (as of fall 2021). Directed by Erin McNany and staffed by counselors in high school and older, camp includes playground time, sports, field and water activities, group games, quiet games, arts and crafts, theme days, Fridays at the Springfield Community Pool, and much more! Spots are extremely limited each week, and are first-come first-served based on completed and paid registration on Community Pass. A waitlist will be kept after all spots are filled. Campers must be potty-trained, and should bring a light snack and drink. Lunch time is not a part of camp. Chisholm Playground Camp follows a COVID-19 Operational Plan developed by the Springfield Recreation Department, as mandated by the New Jersey Department of Health. For campers looking to extend their day, optional afternoon programs with a supervised lunch are offered by private program partners Fashion First Workshops, Built By Me, Kiddies Kaleidoscope, Young Rembrandts, TGA Premier Golf, and U.S. Sports Institute.
