The Springfield Free Public Library invites all Springfield parents to attend its first ever preview of the library’s summer reading club, along with an introduction to some of the great events for kids and teens that the will take place this summer. The meeting will be held via zoom at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 16. Preregistration is not required to attend the meeting.
The presentation will include:
- An introduction to our Youth Services team, including Children’s Librarian Brie Mintz, Teen Librarian Alice Chunn, and our new Assistant Library Director Tammy Shaw who brings to our library many years of experience working as a children’s librarian;
- Instructions for registering for this year’s summer reading club;
- Information about how prizes will be awarded;
- Brief descriptions of the exciting special events that the library is offering this summer; and
- The library’s practices and protocols that continue to emphasize safety and well-being as we approach coming back to a “new normal.”
“We know that it can be tough for people – and especially the parents of young kids – to come out at night so that’s why we’ve scheduled this event to take place via Zoom, “says Library Director, Dale Spindel. “We are looking forward to an interesting summer full of fun and excitement and hope to see many patrons at the virtual introduction to Summer Reading on June 16.”
