Scream Truck to Join Springfield Library in Support of Summer Reading Program

Thanks to our sponsors

Children and teens will scream for ice cream when they register for the Springfield Library’s Summer Reading Program. Participation is for Springfield residents only. Those who register will receive a voucher for a free ice cream from Scream Truck redeemable on Saturday, July 10 between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm when Scream Truck will be parked outside of the library. In order to participate, vouchers must be picked up from the library no later than Tuesday, July 6 at 5:00 pm.

“Getting children to read during the summer is critical to their academic performance all year long,” says Library Director, Dale Spindel. “The library works hard to make it fun and free ice cream is a wonderful incentive. We are thrilled to have the support of Scream Truck.”

Scream Truck, the first on-demand ice cream delivery service, was created by Eric Murphy, a long-time New Jersey resident and accomplished entrepreneur. To receive delivery from Scream Truck, customers sign up on Scream truck’s website. Customers receive a text when the truck is coming to their Springfield neighborhood and then simply “Reply Y” to the text to place a soft serve ice cream order online. Scream Truck prepares the order right in front of the customer’s house later that day. In addition to their soft serve ice cream and toppings, Scream Truck carries premium, non-dairy/vegan ice creams and all natural fresh fruit pops.

“As a locally-owned business, we enjoy participating in community-based events and are happy to help promote the Springfield Library and all they do for the young people in the community,” says Scream Truck Founder/CEO, Eric Murphy.
