Union County is also continuing their Mobile Paper Shredding Events in July. The next event will be held on Thursday, July 8th at Rahway River Park which is located off St. Georges Avenue in Rahway. The event will run from 9 am to 1 pm or until the trucks get filled.  Residents can bring up to four bags of confidential documents per vehicle for shredding.  Please DO NOT bring material that is wet or has already been shredded.

The next Household Hazardous Waste Event will be held on Saturday, August 7th at the Union County Vo-Tech located at 1776 Raritan Avenue in Scotch Plains.  The event will be held from 9 am to 2 pm.  Items for drop off include unwanted pesticides & herbicides, pool chemicals, gasoline, oil-based paints and deck stain.  Latex Paint/Acrylic/Enamel (wall paint) is water-based and will NOT BE ACCEPTED.  It should be dried out and discarded in with your regular garbage.
