October will be an active month for Springfield's senior citizens! The Springfield Recreation Department's calendar includes: Springfield Senior Citizens Club meeting on Thursday, October 28 (RSVP required); rummikub; mahjong; bingo (treats sponsored by Arbor Terrace Mountainside on Wednesday, October 6); "Shape Up with Liz" and "Forever Fit with Betsy" exercise classes; daily fitness room and computer lab; computer training sessions with Linda; bus trip to Noel's Antique Shop and Verona Park on Tuesday, October 5 (RSVP required); lunch bus trip to Longhorn Steakhouse in Springfield on Friday, October 22 (RSVP required); and bus trip to Whole Foods and Target in Vauxhall on Wednesday, October 27 (RSVP required). Free local bus service is currently available to senior citizens daily from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. All activities and trips have current COVID-19 safety protocols in place.
