Hundreds of Springfielders Celebrate Chanukah

Thanks to our sponsors

Hundreds of Springfielders celebrated Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, with an at the 9'th annual public menorah lighting on
Sunday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Park.

The community-wide event was led by Rabbi Mendy & Aidella Blesofsky,
directors of Chabad of Springfield, who thanked all in attendance,
including members of the Township Committee, Township clerk,
Springfield's police, auxiliary police, Emergency management, CERT, fire departments and the DPW.

Before blessing and lighting the menorah, the Rabbi encouraged
guests to keep the miracle of Chanukah alive today by performing
"mitzvot" or good deeds for others.

Following the lighting, latkes, donuts, chocolate coins and beverages were served, much to the delight
of children who had an opportunity to sing "The Dreidel Song" with
their peers. Parents and children enjoyed a magic show and live music
while watching the candles burning low.

Many attendees thanked and commended Chabad for organizing the event.
