Recreation Department Announces Senior Citizens Calendar for January

January will be another active month for Springfield's citizens who are over 55. The Springfield Recreation Department's calendar includes: weekly poker, dominos, rummikub, and mahjong; twice weekly pickleball (free annual registration required); twice weekly bingo (treats sponsored by Arbor Terrace Mountainside on Wednesday, January 19); "Shape Up with Liz" weekly exercise classes (free annual registration required); daily fitness room (free annual registration required); daily computer lab; one computer training session with Linda (email Linda's help desk at [email protected]); bus trip to Central Farmer's Market and Coppola's Ristorante in Berkeley Heights on Thursday, January 13 (RSVP required); bus trip to Target, Big Lots, and Dick's Sporting Goods in Union on Thursday, January 20 (RSVP required); movie and snacks on Wednesday, January 26 (RSVP required); and the Springfield Senior Citizens Club monthly meeting featuring bingo and a presentation on navigating the Township webpage on Thursday, January 27 (RSVP required by Friday, January 21). Free local bus service is currently available to senior citizens daily, with some exceptions, from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. All activities and trips have current COVID-19 safety protocols in place.
