Really Good Book Discussion: Invisible Cities Thursday, February 10, 2022, 07:00pm

Thanks to our sponsors

The Springfield Free Public Library's (Really Good!) Book Discussion Group will reconvene via Zoom to discuss Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino.

In this Canterbury Tales-like novel, explorer Marco Polo describes the fantastic cities he’s seen to emperor Kublai Khan with a series of prose poems. These can be read as parables, meditations, or deconstructions of human experience and storytelling itself.

To join, please contact Adult Services Librarian Ian Allcock ([email protected]). Emails requesting the Zoom link will be answered up to 24 hours in advance. Copies of Invisible Cities can be found in Hoopla, eLibraryNJ, and many public libraries.

We also ask that attendants bring a title to be discussed at future book groups. Ideally, these should be under 350 pages and relatively easy to borrow / purchase.
