Pink Zone Basketball Fundraiser Clinic Returns

Thanks to our sponsors

On Sunday, February 13, 2022, Pink Zone returned to Springfield after a year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Co-sponsored by the Springfield Recreation Department and the Springfield Basketball Association, the event was held at Jonathan Dayton High School on a cold morning marked by light snow that did not disrupt the festivities. The annual youth basketball clinic was chaired by Laurie DeCiantis and Jared Potito, and was led by coaches and players from Moravian University and Jonathan Dayton High School. The event raised thousands of dollars to support breast cancer research and awareness for the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund. Local children in 2nd-8th grades participated in dribbling and shooting drills, learned competitive game skills, and received motivation by basketball mentors. T-shirts and food were generously provided by Kosher Bagel Supreme, TD Pizza, and Creative Wonders. Financial support was donated by 2021-2022 basketball season sponsors: Glendale Pizza; Springfield Orthodontics; Picante, The Taste of Mexico; Prime Time Mortgage Corporation; Law Offices of Pacifico & Lawrence; Law Offices of Andrew H. Graulich; Morning Light Acupuncture; WeCare Medical Specialty Group; and Springfield F.M.B.A. Local 57. Picture #1 (l-r): Samantha Casey, Laurie DeCiantis, JJ Perez, Jared Potito, Jennifer Potito.
