Springfield Library Weekly Progress Report

The remediation process in the adult services department is now well underway, even as work continues in staff offices, work room areas, and the staff break room. While the accompanying pictures, taken on February 17, show that we are still not ready to bring staff back inside the building, I am optimistic that it won’t be too much longer before all repairs to the walls and shelving units have been accomplished, a new coat of paint has been applied, and new carpeting put down throughout the entire building.

 

I want to assure you that everyone in this very complicated process of remediating the library has been working as hard as they can to get us to the point where we can again reopen our doors. Continue to stay tuned for a message from me announcing the schedule for when we will have the outdoor book and media drops reopened.
