Time to Clean the Parks

Springfield Community Cleanup Day - April 10, 2022

As the grass turns green and the trees begin to leaf out, it’s time for Springfield’s Community Cleanup Day. Volunteers are welcome and needed on Sunday, April 10 beginning at 11:00 AM in Laurel, Smithfield, Alvin and Washington Parks and the area surrounding the Community Gardens in Patriots Park. The Springfield Department of Public Works and the Springfield Environmental Commission and Green Team will supervise volunteers and provide gloves, trash bags and tools. Community service hours will be awarded for FMG and JDHS volunteers.

Alyson Weber Miller, Chair of the SEC noted, “We welcome everyone who can help to clean up our parks — we believe our community deserves pristine play and relaxation areas. Please join us on Sunday, April 10. No need to register in advance. Just come out and help.”
