Under cloudy skies and light rain, the Township of Springfield celebrated Pride Month with a spirited event at the Chisholm Community Center on Wednesday, June 1. The 4th annual program included a rainbow flag raising; DJ music by Summit Soundz; informational tables by Halo Roasters, Elvira Chaush New York Life Insurance, WellCare, and Planned Parenthood; performances by Front & Center for Performing Arts and Jonathan Dayton High School band, choir, and advanced dance; greetings and proclamation by Mayor Alex Keiser; remarks by Township Committeewoman Erica DuBois, Union County Commissioner Chair Rebecca Williams, Director of Recreation Adam Lieb, and Assistant Director of Recreation Brendan O'Reilly; student remarks by Jonathan Dayton High School senior and GSA club president Alyssa S.; children's crafts; and rainbow ice pops.
