2022 Tree Lighting Features Live Concert By Local Performers

Thanks to our sponsors

The Township of Springfield will light the Christmas Tree at Town Hall with a seasonal musical tribute on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 pm, outside Town Hall and the First Aid Squad. In the event of rain or snow, the free celebration will be postponed until the next day, Thursday, December 1, 2022. Prior to the tree lighting countdown, the community will be treated to live performances by Taye McQueen, singer, actress, and Jonathan Dayton High School Class of 2011 graduate; students from Front & Center for Performing Arts of Springfield; and the Jonathan Dayton High School Jazz Ensemble. The program will feature greetings by Mayor Alex Keiser, as well as appearances by a Toy Soldier and the Grinch. Santa Claus will make a spirited entrance and pose for photos. Photo opportunities will also be available in a giant inflatable Snow Globe. During the event, give-aways including hot pretzels will be provided by the Springfield Recreation Department, Springfield Business Improvement District (B.I.D.), and the Springfield F.M.B.A. Local #57. Attendees are encouraged to bring $10 gift cards (Walmart, Target, or Amazon) for Springfield H.O.P.E. to donate to resident families in need. Springfield Unity Project (S.U.P.) will be collecting non-perishable food items for needy community members. Boy Scouts Troop #73 will be on hand to take pre-orders for grave blankets and wreaths. New this year: Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) Church and Cannon Chapter will be offering sponsorships for veteran's wreaths for Wreaths Across America, coloring pages for children, and the option to write a note to a veteran. Questions?
