a. During the entire month of April, DPW crews will canvass the Township in the garbage
packer truck for vegetative waste. Branches 4 inches in diameter and smaller, leaves and
grass will be collected. Please note material must be placed in recyclable bags or cans.
Loose debris in roadway will not be picked up!
b. Coffee with a Cop, Thursday, March 30, 9-11 a.m. Halo Roasters, sponsored by the
Police Department
c. Project Medicine Drop for Unused Meds, March 30, inside Chisholm Community Center,
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
d. Egg Hunt & Kite Fest, Saturday, April 1, Chisholm Park, 2-4 p.m. Bring baskets and kites
to fly! Photos with the Bunny and fun activities for the kids. Sponsored by Recreation

e. Springfield Community Cleanup, Hosted by Springfield Environmental Commission and
Department of Public Works, Sunday, April 23, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Community service
hours offered.
f. Congratulations to the 8th Grade Boys Minutemen Team on winning the JBL Championship
with a 47-33 victory over Bedminster.
g. Congratulations to the 7th Grade Boys Minutemen Team on winning the JBL Championship
with a 61-51 victory over Mountainside.
h. The Township extends condolences to the family of Harry Weinerman who passed away on
March 21. Harry was the longtime owner of Drexel Cleaners on Mountain Avenue and not only
ran the American Legion Baseball League but also volunteered in youth activities.
