Recreation Department Announces July 2023 Calendar for Residents 55+

July will be a fun summer month of activities for Springfield residents ages 55+! The Springfield Recreation Department's calendar includes: bingo, poker, dominos, rummikub, mahjong, and puzzles; computer lab; afternoon and evening open-play pickleball in the Chisholm Community Center's Lee Adler Memorial Gymnasium (free annual registration required); "Shape Up" with Liz and "Forever Fit" with Betsy exercise classes (free annual registration required); fitness room open on weekdays from 9:00 am-6:00 pm (free annual registration required); lunch bus trip to the Galloping Hill Inn in Union (RSVP); bus trip to the Shore Club in Spring Lake (sold out); and Union County Health Department presentation on "Respiratory Illnesses" (RSVP).

Eligible residents age 55+ are encouraged to make an appointment to donate blood at the Chisholm Community Center on Wednesday, July 5, from 2:00-6:30 pm, by calling (732) 672-5281. Donors will receive a free New York Mets t-shirt and will be entered to win two free New York Mets tickets!

Free weekday in-town bus service is available from 9:00 am-3:30 pm (with some exceptions). To schedule an advance reservation (highly encouraged), please call the Springfield Recreation Department at (973) 912-2227, on weekdays between 8:00 am-4:00 pm.
