Recreation Department Announces August 2023 Calendar for Residents 55+

Summer continues with an active month of August for Springfield residents ages 55+! The Springfield Recreation Department's calendar includes: bingo (treats sponsored by Arbor Terrace Mountainside on Wednesday, August 23), poker, dominos, rummikub, mahjong, and puzzles; computer lab; afternoon and evening open-play pickleball at the Chisholm Community Center (free annual registration required); Shape Up with Liz and Forever Fit with Betsy exercise classes (free annual registration required); fitness room open on weekdays from 9:00 am-6:00 pm (free annual registration required); Art with Andrea (RSVP); bus trip to The Brownstone for lunch and Denver/Campbell tribute (sold out/waitlist); bus trip to the Millburn Public Library for a free movie (RSVP); bus trip to the Springfield Farmers Market (RSVP); and bus trip to the Asbury Park boardwalk and beach (RSVP).

Eligible residents age 55+ are encouraged to make an appointment to donate blood at the Chisholm Community Center on Monday, August 7, from 2:00-6:30 pm, by calling (732) 672-5281. Donors will receive two free New York Mets game tickets!

Free weekday in-town bus service is available from 9:00 am-3:30 pm (with some exceptions). To schedule an advance reservation (highly encouraged), please call the Springfield Recreation Department at (973) 912-2227, on weekdays between 8:00 am-4:00 pm.
