Local organization CMC 15 Inc. is holding a used sneaker drive to promote the recycling and reusing of sneakers, as well as to raise money for its charitable efforts. The Springfield community is asked to drop off used athletic sneakers during open hours at the Chisholm Community Center, where a marked bin has been placed in the rear lobby. Peak Sports Academy in Mountainside serves an additional drop-off location. CMC 15 Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in memory of Connor P. McTernan whose mission is to serve and raise funds for the underprivileged, the distressed, and the differently abled, and for students seeking to advance their education.
