    1. Notice:           This meeting is being held in accordance with the Public Laws of 1975, Chapter 231 and adequate notice of this meeting has been provided by a Notice sent to The Star Ledger, The Local Source and posted in the Main Lobby of the Municipal Building and on the Township website.

  1. Proclamations & Announcements

a.  Farmers Market is every Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., in front of the Library

b.  National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, September 19. Have you moved,

     changed your name, or turned 17? The Springfield Free Public Library invites

     you to check your registration status, register to vote and make use of voting

     resources at their registration drive on September 19, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

                 c.   Bulk pickup is Wednesday, September 20.  Please put your items out 

    on Tuesday, September 19.

                 d.   Springfield Residents Ages 55+ September Calendar    

                 e.   Fall Festival & Car show, Sunday, October 15 (rain date October 22),

                        11 a.m.-5 p.m., Mountain Avenue between Caldwell Place and Morris

                        Avenue. Fun day activities for all ages with free admission to Festival.

                        We invite local business who would like to participate as a vendor to

                  1. Ordinance 2023-22 – This ordinance amends Chapter 12 (Building, Housing and

                      Hotels) of the Township Code to add prohibitions against the short-term rental of

                      dwellings and segments thereof.

             iii.Resolution 2023-224 – This resolution authorizes the refund of property tax

                 overpayments.

               iv.Resolution 2023-225 – This resolution authorizes the settlement of a Tax Appeal

                   entitled Township of Springfield v. Dev Dis Assoc of NJ Inc., pending in the Tax

                  Court of NJ, for property located at Block 3802, Lot 2, commonly known as 35

                  Fadem Road, Springfield, NJ.

              v. Resolution 2023-226- This resolution appoints Rafael Colon, Jr., as part-time

                  Recreation Assistant in the Springfield Recreation Department.

              vi. Resolution 2023-227 – This resolution authorizes the award of a contract to

                  Bart’s Construction LLC to repair the air conditioning system at the Township’s

                  Fire Department at 200 Mountain Avenue.

          ix.Resolution 2023-230 – This resolution accepts Fire Chief Carlo Palumbo’s

              retirement and approves certain retiree medical benefits.

          x.Resolution 2023-231- This resolution designates an officer of the Fire Department

             who shall be responsible for performing the duties of the Fire Chief in the event of

             the Fire Chief’s absence.
