Children ages 5-11 are invited to join Sweet Samantha for seven weeks of baking and cake/cupcake/cookie decorating classes! A new season of creative and tasty projects starts soon! The popular classes are hosted by the Springfield Recreation Department and held at the Chisholm Community Center (100 South Springfield Avenue, Springfield). Minimum enrollment is needed for the classes to run, so please register early.

Baking
We will be working together to learn measuring, mixing, sifting, how to use baking tools, and more! Collectively, we will bake themed recipes each week and the kids will go home with a portion as well as have a tasting sample at the end of each class! Themes will be: Gingerbread Cupcakes with Whipped Cream, Brownies with Candy Cane Dust, Hot Cocoa Cookies, Pipped Shortbread Swirls V-day Candy/Truffles, White Chocolate Mini Cupcakes, and Easy Crinkle Cookies.

Cake/Cupcake/Cookie Decorating
We will be working with a variety of buttercreams, fondants, and toppings to create either 2-3 cupcakes/cookies per session or a mini cake (3”-4”). Themes will be: Snow Flake Cut Outs, Dog Cake, Sushi Kawaii Sculptures, Winter Treats, Shag Dog V-Day Pop Tart Art, Realistic Burrito Cake, and Penguin Snow Cake.
