Pink Zone Basketball Clinic Raises Money for Breast Cancer Research

Thanks to our sponsors

On Sunday, February 11, 2024, Pink Zone celebrated over a decade in Springfield! Co-sponsored by the Springfield Recreation Department and the Springfield Basketball Association (SBA), the event was held at Jonathan Dayton High School's East and Main Gymnasiums. The annual youth basketball clinic was chaired by SBA coach Jonathan DeSteno, and was led by coaches and players from Moravian University and Jonathan Dayton High School. The clinic raised thousands of dollars to support breast cancer research and awareness for the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund. Close to 100 local children in 2nd-8th grades participated in dribbling and shooting drills, learned competitive game skills, and received motivation by basketball mentors. Custom Pink Zone t-shirts were distributed and pre-packaged snacks and drinks were sold. Financial support was donated by 2023-2024 basketball season sponsors: Baltusrol Golf Club, Blue Sky DEF, Butnick & Levenson LLP, Cambridge Pavers, Glendale Pizza, Law Offices of Andrew H. Graulich, Law Offices of Pacifico & Lawrence, Service Alliance Plumbing & Heating, Smilow Family Dentistry, Springfield F.M.B.A. Local 57, Springfield P.B.A. Local 76, Springfield Orthodontics, Prime Time Mortgage Corporation, and TD Pizza.
