The Springfield Free Public Library introduces our newest e-reading experience, The Palace Project

Thanks to our sponsors

The Springfield Free Public Library is excited to introduce you to our latest e-reading experience - The Palace Project. Thanks to the funding provided by the New Jersey State Library, all residents of New Jersey can now access The Palace Project for free. The Palace Project is an e-reading platform that has been developed by and for libraries. With the Palace app, you can easily access the library's digital collections in one place. You can enjoy thousands of free e-books and audiobooks from the Digital Public Library of America-curated Palace Bookshelf, which has around 17,000 items. Additionally, you can also access the perpetually licensed Boundless (formerly Axis 360) titles purchased by the New Jersey State Library and the items purchased through the Palace Marketplace by the New Jersey State Library, which altogether comprise close to 20,000 items!

To access The Palace Project, all you need is your library barcode and pin, and the Palace app, which is available on both Android and Apple devices. We have provided a step-by-step guide below to help you get started:

Step 1: Download the Palace App from either the Apple Store or Google Play Store.

Step 2: Find your library (Springfield Free Public Library) in the app.

Step 3: Click on Settings.
