The Springfield Recreation Department’s annual Halloween  Spooktacular was held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, as part of the Township of Springfield's Fallapalooza. The new venue allowed local families the opportunity to browse the vendor fair, beer garden, two car shows, live musical and dance performances, food truck festival, and children's activities. Located in the parking lot across from the Springfield Free Public Library, the Halloween Spooktacular featured a costume contest, Red Ribbon Week giveaways, sponsor tables, inflatable haunted house maze, a magician, pumpkin painting, DJ music, and the PSE&G escape room truck. Toward the end of the event, costume contest winners were announced and presented with gift card prizes by Mayor Harris Laufer; Township Committeeman Chris Capodice; Mike Scalera, Co-Chairman of the Springfield Business Improvement District (BID); Adam Lieb, Director of Recreation; and Brendan O'Reilly, Assistant Director of Recreation. Financial sponsors of the event included the BID, Mike Scalera State Farm Insurance Agency, Cardinal Land Properties, PM Pediatric Urgent Care, Nimble Moving Solutions, Nex Level Training, UKF Martial Arts, and TD Pizza.
