Springfield Free Public Library Benefits from Eagle Scout Project

Michael Sarracino from Scouts BSA Troop 73 of Springfield had been fundraising for his Eagle Scout Project which took place at the Springfield Free Public Library. According to Sarracino, "I chose to do the project there because the library has had a large impact on me as a youth and I wanted to give back to such a positive institution. For the project, the volunteers and myself will be undergoing a renewal of the grounds in the front of the library. This includes replacing overgrown plants with low growth plants which are easily maintainable that will beautify the area, repainting the front sign, refinishing the benches and creating a children's flower garden." Excess funds at the end of the project were donated to the library.
