Township Committee – September 22, 2026 at 7 p.m.
NOTE: This may not be the order of business. There may be additions or deletions. Regular Session - 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month at 7 p.m.
1. Call to Order
a. Notice: This meeting is being held in accordance with the Public Laws of 1975, Chapter 231 and adequate notice of this meeting has been provided by a Notice sent to The Star Ledger, The Local Source and posted in the Main Lobby of the Municipal Building and on the Township website.

2. Proclamations & Announcements
a. Springfield 55+ Residents Calendar September 2026.
b. All Municipal Offices will be closed on Monday, October 12th in observance of
Columbus Day.
c. Fallapalooza and Halloween Spooktacular is scheduled for Sunday, October 18th
from 11am- 5pm. Enjoy Food Trucks, Vendors, Beer Garden, Pony Rides, Car Show
and much more. Costume Contest Judging 12:30pm -3:30pm Winner will be
announced at 3:30pm (Rain Date October 25th).
d. Free Flu Clinic Friday, September 25th from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the Chisholm
Community Center. Make an appointment in advance on the Chisholm Senior
Citizens sign bulletin board or call the Recreation Department at 973-912-2227.
e. The Election Ballot Drop Box for mail-in ballots is now open behind Chisholm at the
far end of the parking lot by the handicapped ramp. Please do not place the ballots
in the Flag Depository. The County Clerk’s Office must begin mailing the ballots by
September 19 and they are mailed alphabetically by town. For updates, please visit:
f. Springfield Library will host Tree Oh! on Wednesday, September 30th at 6:30 p.m. in
front of Town Hall. Bring your own lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of classic rock
and popular music favorites. In the event of inclement weather, the performance will
be moved indoors to the Library.

2. Ordinance 2026-20 This ordinance (a) amends the land use provisions at
Chapter 35 of the Township Code within § 35-10.1 (Amendments to
Zoning Map) to rezone the rear portions of the properties located at 171
Route 22 East Bound (Block 3703, Lot 1), 99 Route 22 East Bound
(Block 3801, Lot 5), and 391 Route 22 East Bound (Block 3903, Lot 2)
from the General Industrial (I-40) Zone District to the Highway
Commercial (H-c) Zone District and (b) rescinds and repeals Township
Ordinance No. 2026-13 in its entirety.
