Township Committee – November 25, 2025 at 7 p.m.


NOTE: This may not be the order of business. There may be additions or deletions. Regular

Session - 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month at 7 p.m.

1. Call to Order

a. Notice: This meeting is being held in accordance with the Public Laws of 1975,

Chapter 231 and adequate notice of this meeting has been provided by a Notice sent

to The Star Ledger, The Local Source and posted in the Main Lobby of the Municipal

Building and on the Township website.

b. Pledge of Allegiance led by Carl Ostergaard, Jr., Commander, American Legion

Post #228.

2. Proclamations & Announcements

a. Springfield 55+ Residents Calendar December 2025.

b. Leaf collection started Monday November 3 rd thru December 31 st . Only grass and

leaves will be collected. No branches or sticks. Please keep all leaves no closer

than 10 feet from storm drain or catch basin.

c. Town Hall will be closed on November 27 th & 28 th for Thanksgiving.

d. 2025 Tree Lighting Wednesday December 3 rd , 5:30 to 8pm, Outside of Town Hall

(Rain date December 4 th ).

e. Mobile Shredding Event Saturday, December 6 th , from 9am-1pm, at the Springfield

Pool, 44 Morrison Road. Residents only, no businesses and maximum of 5 bags per

car.

f. Bulk Pick Up is Wednesday, December 10 th . Please have all items out by Tuesday

evening.

g. Wreaths Across America, Saturday, December 13 th at Noon, First Presbyterian

Church.

h. 13 th Annual Menorah Lighting, Sunday, December 14 th at 5pm, Veterans Memorial

Park.


i. Rabies Clinic, Chisholm Community Center, Saturday, January 10, 10am-Noon. Use

back parking lot and enter by ramp close to playground. Dogs must be leashed and

cats in carriers.

j. Residents with a garbage and recycling pick-up on Thursday will be rescheduled for

this week. Recycling will be collected on Friday November 28 th and Garbage will be

picked up on Saturday November 29 th .

k. Santa Is Coming To Town on Saturday December 6 th from 8am – 4pm. (Rain date is

December 13 th ).

l. The next Committee Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday December 16 th . This will be

the last Regular Committee Meeting for 2025.

m. The Township extends condolences to the family of Retired Police Chief William

Chisholm on the passing of his brother Jon Chisholm, 78, on November 12. Jon

Chisholm was born and raised in Springfield and retired as Captain of the

Elizabeth Detective Bureau in 2010 after 36 years of service.

1. Ordinance 2025-19 This ordinance amends the provisions at Chapter 4

General Licensing of the Township Code to include provisions governing

Redemption Amusement Devices.
