Township Committee Approves Agreement with Summit Area YMCA for Pool and Camp Operations this Summer

At it’s Tuesday, March 23, 2021, meeting, the Township Committee approved an agreement with the Summit Area YMCA to operate the Springfield Community Pool in Summer 2021. In the coming days, information on pool membership, pool camp, swim team, and other pool-related programs will be available and online registration will open. Be on the lookout for an announcement on the Township of Springfield webpage, as well as via email blast from the Springfield Recreation Department and on the Township of Springfield’s various pages on Facebook.

Senior Citizens Venture to Jersey Gardens on Recreation Bus Trip

Springfield senior citizens traveled to the Mills at Jersey Gardens for an afternoon of shopping and lunch on Tuesday, March 23. The Springfield Recreation Department sponsors several bus trips each month that are chaperoned and follow COVID-19 protocols. Residents age 55+ can contact the Springfield Recreation Department at [email protected] or (973) 912-2227 to learn about future bus trips and reserve a spot.

Pre-Registration Open for Recreation Department's Meet & Greet the Easter Bunny

Springfield Recreation Department is sponsoring Meet & Greet the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 3, 2021, from 1:00-4:00 pm, at Chisholm Park (rain location, Chisholm Community Center). The free event -- in which online pre-registration is required for limited, reserved timed slots -- is open to Springfield residents. Visit https://register.communitypass.net/springfield to pre-register. After the slots are filled, there will be an online waitlist. Bring your own baskets for free eggs and your own cameras for photos with the Easter Bunny. Enjoy DJ music and giveaways.
