Recreation Department Releases March Calendar for Senior Citizens

This March, Springfield's senior citizens will continue to be busy at the Chisholm Community Center. The Springfield Recreation Department's program calendar includes a Zoom comedy show by humorist Joyce Saltman, pickleball, rummikub, bingo, exercise classes, fitness room, computer lab, bus trip to The Mills at Jersey Gardens, local bus service, and a new discussion group called Conversations. All activities and trips have COVID-19 safety protocols in place.

Dave & Tom Entertain Senior Citizens on Zoom

Springfield musicians Dave & Tom entertained local senior citizens on Thursday, February 25, 2021, in a private concert on Zoom! Old favorites like Chuck Berry, The Searchers, The Everly Brothers, Bob Dylan, and the Beatles were paired with original songs soon to be released! Township and YMCA Seeking Feedback on Potential Pool and Camp Partnership

The Township of Springfield is exploring a partnership with the Summit Area YMCA to potentially run a modified 2021 pool season and summer camp program at the Springfield Community Pool. The public's feedback is requested to gauge interest and prepare offerings for the community. The short survey can be completed at:

Chisholm Blood Drive Set for Tuesday, March 2

Next Tuesday, March 2, 2021, another critical blood drive will be held at the Chisholm Community Center, from 2:00-8:00 pm. Springfield Takes Delivery of New Firetruck

On Wednesday morning, February 24th, a brand new 2020 Pierce Velocity Firetruck arrived in Springfield after making the long journey to town from Appleton, Wisconsin.  According to Fire Chief Carlo Palumbo:   “This will be the "First Due Engine" replacing one over 23 years old.  It has the latest updated equipment including air bags and door locks--yes door locks!”  Chief Palumbo said "We are moving with the times and Public safety is a top priority in town.  I am grateful for the allocation of funds for this vehicle which cost approximately
