Springfield Celebrates Park & Recreation Month in July

July is Park and Recreation Month! This year’s theme is “The Power of Parks and Recreation”! Springfield Recreation Department and National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) are celebrating Park and Recreation Month in 2026 by highlighting “The Power Of..." -- the power of parks and recreation, play, nature, community, belonging, well-being, and the people who make these experiences possible! Springfield residents, Springfield Community Pool members, and Chisholm Community Center visitors are encouraged to share on social media their experiences, memories, and stories about what parks and recreation mean to them by using the hashtag #ThePowerOf.
