1. Call to Order

a. Notice: This meeting is being held in accordance with the Public Laws of 1975, Chapter 231 and adequate notice of this meeting has been provided by a Notice sent to The Star Ledger, The Local Source and posted in the Main Lobby of the Municipal Building and on the Township website.

2. Proclamations & Announcements

a. All Municipal Office will be closed on Labor Day, Monday September 2, 2024.

b. The next Committee Meeting is Tuesday September 10, 2024 at 7 p.m.

c. Town wide garage sale is scheduled for the weekend of September 14th & 15th.

d. Bulk pick up is scheduled for Wednesday September 18, 2024.

e. Springfield Residents 55+ August 2024 Calendar.

f.  Senior Citizens Bus Trip Tuesday September 24, 2024 “Music of ABBA” at PNC Bank Art Center.  Register at Community Pass. The trip is opened to Springfield Residents ages 55+ & members of the Springfield Senior Citizens Club.

g. Union County Board of County Commissioner presents Veterans Job Fair, Wednesday August 21 5pm at Warinanco Sport Center. Open to the public, on the spot interviews bring your resume.  Register at www.ucnj.org/jobfair.

h. The Township extends condolences to Firefighter Stewart Jurczak on the passing of his mother Sylvia Jurczak.

 i. Due to inclement weather National Night Out has been rescheduled to Tuesday, August 20th.  JDHS parking lot from 5-8 p.m. 

 j. The Township extends condolences to the Laufer family on the passing of Max Laufer, grandfather of Deputy Mayor Laufer.

 k. Street Dedication Honoring Gloria Simpson.  Sunday, September 8th at 11am, Mountain and North Trivett.

                  vii. Resolution 2024-196 This resolution authorizes settlement of Tax Appeal entitled Township of Springfield v. Request from St. James Church for use of Chisholm parking lot for overflow parking for the Church Festival on October 15-19 (Wednesday thru Friday) from 5:30 to 11 p.m. and October 20 (Saturday) from 1:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and also for the 5K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  (Hold Harmless and Certificate of Insurance provided)
