       Township Committee – January 14, 2025 at 7 p.m.

 

NOTE: This may not be the order of business. There may be additions or deletions. Regular Session - 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month at 7 p.m.

1. Call to Order

a. Notice: This meeting is being held in accordance with the Public Laws of 1975, Chapter 231 and adequate notice of this meeting has been provided by a Notice sent to The Star Ledger, The Local Source and posted in the Main Lobby of the Municipal Building and on the Township website.

b. Pledge of Allegiance led by Carl Ostergaard, Jr., Vice Commander, American Legion Post #228.

2. Proclamations & Announcements

a. Springfield Residents 55+ January 2025 Calendar.

b. All Municipal Offices will be closed on Monday January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

c. Christmas trees will be collected curbside through the month of January.  Please remove lights, decorations, wire, tree stands and plastic bags.

d. First bulk pick up for 2025 is scheduled for March 11th.

e. Swearing in of First Aid Squad Officers and Members.

                           1. Ordinance 2025-01 This ordinance amends the existing ordinances governing

                               salary and compensation for certain offices and employment positions and

                               compensation for certain offices and employment positions and establishes

                               compensation levels for certain offices and employment positions within the

                               Township of Springfield.

                   2.Ordinance 2025-02 This ordinance amends provisions of the Township Code

                       to create the position of Code Enforcement Officer.

                               February 11, 2025

                      i. Resolution 2025-43 This resolution authorizes the Township of Springfield to

                         enter into interlocal shared services agreement with the Bergen County Technical

                         Schools for Information Technology Services (COAF).

          ii. Resolution 2025-44 This resolution authorizes and ratifies the award of a non-fair

              and open professional services contract to RD Parisi Associates, Inc., to provide

              general insurance consultant/broker services to the Township.

           iii. Resolution 2025-45 This resolution supports New Jersey Senate Bill S2511/

                A4051 regulating the sale of certain animals in pet stores.

                       iv. Resolution 2025-46 This resolution authorizes the hiring of a seasonal laborer

                            for the Township’s Department of Public Works.

               v. Resolution 2025-47 This resolution extends the deadlines for budget dates for

                   introduction and adoption.

                vi. Resolution 2025-48 This resolution authorizes a License Agreement with the Rotary Club of Springfield to utilize certain Township property for a food truck event.

vii. Resolution 2025-49 This resolution authorizes an award of Professional Services

     Contract to reappoint CGP&H LLC to serve as the Township’s Administrative

     Agent and to assist it in discharging its housing obligations under the Fair Share

     Housing Act and related New Jersey regulations for the time period commencing

     as of January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025.

viii. Resolution 2025-50 This resolution awards a professional service contract to Tom

      Clarke Marketing LLC for professional website maintenance.
