Halloween Spooktacular Set for October 30 - Pre-Registration Open

Springfield Recreation Department's annual Halloween Spooktacular is coming up on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 12:30-2:30 pm, at Chisholm Park (100 South Springfield Avenue). New for 2021: The first 200 individuals to pre-register on Community Pass will receive a free basket of freshly-made warm donuts from the Glazed & Confused Donuts Truck! Children are invited to dress up and show off their scariest and most original costumes at the costume contest. Pre-registration is required on Community Pass. Prizes will be awarded at 1:30 pm.

Spark Joy Webinar with the Springfield Public Library

Join the Springfield Public Library and learn the life-changing magic of tidying with the Spark Joy Webinar with Shannon Huneycutt at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 5. During this inspiring presentation, participants will learn the KonMari philosophy and guiding principles needed to tidy once and for all and will leave feeling motivated to Spark Joy at home, in the office, and in life!

Travel Basketball Tryouts Announced

Springfield Recreation Department and Springfield Basketball Association (SBA) announce travel team tryouts. Online registration is now open for travel basketball tryouts for Fall 2021/Winter 2022! Detailed flyers can be downloaded at www.springfield-nj.us/recreation. Click "Flyers List" and then "Basketball". Tryouts at Irwin Park are offered for Nettes 5th-8th grade girls teams and Minutemen 4th-8th grade boys teams.

Senior Citizens Visit Ocean Grove on Recreation Bus Trip

Springfield Recreation Department's senior citizens traveled down the shore to Ocean Grove for a day of relaxing on the beach, strolling the boardwalk, dining, and shopping today, Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Recreation Department's 35+ Men's Basketball Returns

After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Springfield Recreation Department's basketball program for resident men 35 years of age and older returns this week! Registered residents are offered two opportunities per week to play non-competitive pick-up games: Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00 pm at Jonathan Dayton High School (east gym) and Sundays from 8:00-10:00 am at Florence Gaudineer Middle School (girl's gym). The program costs $25 (new players) or $12.50 (2019-2020 players).
